William Adam
Cuppage was born in Fermoy, Ireland June 26, 1860. He attended the Royal
Military College at Sandhurst from June, 1880 to January 21, 1881 being
commissioned Second Lieutenant in the 99th Foot on the 22nd. In July, 1881
he was promoted to full Lieutenant with the Liverpool Regt. Captain with the
5th Bengal Infantry in January , 1892 and Major in January 21, 1901.
W.A. Cuppage was
severely wounded in the 1886-7 expedition. He was qualified as
interpreter in eleven languages and commended in 1900 for his work on Plague
Duty in Bombay, India.
Condition: GVF.
Both clasps
confirmed on the roll. Also research detailing the above and a copy of a
letter about the 1900 Bombay commendation. |
