Alexander Mackintosh joined the Indian Army
as Ensign on 3 July 1807: lieutenant, 14th Madras Native Infantry, 2nd
December 1811, Captain, 27th NI commanding Ahmednuggur local battalion, 1st
May 1824: Brevet Major, 10th January 1837: retired, 30th September 1837. He
served with the 2nd Battalion, 14th Native Infantry at the battle of
Maheidpoor, 21st December 1817, where he was slightly wounded.
